For e.g.inorder to make a metal ceramic crown, 1-1,5 mm of dental material must be removed, while in the case of metal-free crowns only 0,3-1 mm of dental material needs to be removed.In most cases metal free ceramic crowns are made of zirconium or lithium disilicate ceramic.
